I so adore this photograph. For one thing, well, it is a beautiful photograph; the colorization of it is stunning and the little girl is such a bright eyed beauty. And then, of course, there is the story behind the girl. The icon she would one day become. This was Marilyn before Marilyn, before fame and heartbreak and the highs and lows. Norma Jean is smiling in this photograph… but do we detect a bit of sadness around the eyes? or is that just because we know her story?
I so adore this photograph.
